Even though two drives deep into Kohala
territory yielded no points Saturday in Kapaau, persistence paid off
for Hawaii Prep's football team.
Freshman Michael Schutte's
2-yard touchdown run with 8 minutes, 27 seconds left in the fourth
quarter put Ka Makani ahead to stay as HPA beat the host Cowboys 14-6
in a Big Island Interscholastic Federation Division II game. read more

The Hawaii Prep football team's 27-20 victory over Kamehameha-Hawaii on Friday demonstrated two things.
One,
that the Division II race in the Big Island Interscholastic Federation
looks the most intriguing since statewide classification was instituted
in 2003. Four of the five teams in the division seem to be title
contenders.
Three-time defending champion Kamehameha (0-1) is
staring up at Konawaena (2-0 Division II), HPA (1-1) and Kohala (1-1).
The battle for the first-half title looks to be a dogfight. If the
first-half champion and second-half champion are different at the end
of the regular season, those teams will play for the overall title. read more by Kevin Jakahi Stephens Media

It didn't matter which direction or what
offensive play the Hawaii Prep football team ran because pretty much
everything worked on Friday night.
